large levels

I don't know if this is a bug so much as something that needs to be optimized.

When I play a large level (such as "circus soleil" in Eric Tchong's Atlas 2), there are long delays while the program searches out the quickest path, when the use the feature to click on the box and then click on the target. And then I also have to wait for the animation, when the program finally does start to move. The delay on a large map with a lot of empty space can be as much as 10 seconds, which adds up to make large maps almost unplayable. Click click, wait....... click click, wait........

Related to this, I'd love it if the feature could be added to turn off animation. It's a thought, anyway. Please think about it.

By the way, just as an extreme example of this:

Try opening the level called "beemaze" in Eric Tchong's Atlas 3. Free up the first box by doing

rrUruurruullD

Left-click on the box that is now to the right of the pusher, then click on the bottom-most target.

I don't even know if the program ever figures out how to get the box to the target, because I quit out after 5 minutes. And my machine has a 2.8 GHz processor, 2GB of RAM, and a huge hard drive with 189 GB of free space.

Related to this, the fact that you have to play out a solution to import it makes importing LURD solutions extremely inefficient. It takes FOREVER to import solutions from another program. You shouldn't have to do this, much less play the whole solution out, then have to click the Manual Play button, undo, then redo for the solution to save. I believe there should be a button to save the solution as soon as you import the LURD.

Yesterday I was testing this out by importing solutions to Atlas 2 from another program -- it took 10 minutes to import just 2 solutions. Just 2. It would literally take hours to import the solutions to one collection. This is not appealing.

Please consider working on these issues:
Make it possible to turn off animations altogether
Make it possible to import solutions without having to play them out
Streamline the path-finding algorithm.

Thanks.

Hi

Make it possible to turn off animations altogether

You mean that the man and the box jumps instantly to the final position. I think that would be rather easy to do.

Make it possible to import solutions without having to play them out

That would also be quite easy to implement.

Streamline the path-finding algorithm

This one is not at all easy. The algorithm has been improved and optimized a couple of times. The level you mention is the worst type of level to process, a very large level with lots of open space and a long path to go. Finding the optimal solution, means that every possible move has to be explored. I will certainly look into it, but don't expect too much.

Turning off optimization in Options, makes it much faster.
