Level Locks Up While Playing

When I am playing a level, it will lock up and not respond for 3 or 4 seconds. Sometimes during that time, the icons in the toolbar will disappear. This usually occurs when I click the man or when I click a space for the ball to be pushed to. Sometimes during this delay, the cursor will change to an hourglass and then change back to normal where it will let me continue. At times it will say at the top "Sokoban [Not responding]".

I have noticed also that sometimes when I click the ball and then click the space for the ball to be pushed into, nothing happens for about 3 or 4 seconds and then it will go ahead and move.

This strange behavior will occur several times a minute.

I do not know if this is related, but I notice the man refreshing immediately after completing a move. When this happens, there is no delay in playing the level. This does not happen on every move but once out of every 3 or 4 moves. It seems to happen more often after a long move.

I have tried uninstalling the program and reinstalling, but it has made no difference.

Any help to fix this will be appreciated.

Daniel

EDIT: I am running Windows XP PRO.

I have found how to stop this delay in playing a level.

I unchecked the Music and Sound Effects options and I have no more delay. It appears to be working as it should now.

I had also noticed that it took a long time for the Sokoban game to load when I clicked the shortcut icon. Now it is loading faster, in a normal amount of time.

I am posting this for anyone who may have this same problem.

Since I do not use the music or sound effects, this is not an issue with me.

Further tests shows that it is the music option that causes the delay. I have noticed a small delay at start when music is on, but never during playing.

It also seems that only MIDI and not MP3 causes this delay. Any other experiences?
