The maelstrm collection Nr.: 20: Maelstrm Collection

Lol Nr.: 20: Maelstrm Collection looked very well known for me. Lol

Level: 'Maelstrom Collection #19' Nr: 20 Collection: 'The maelstrom collection'

And Yes. See Bugs1005 collection 794: 798

  Level: '798' Nr: 791 Collection: 'Bugs1005 collections'

So: I replayed Bugs1005 794: 798 until some moves and pushes before the end, and saved that game as "Bugs1005 nr.794.gam
With Wordpad this looks like:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?>

C:\Sokoban\Levels\Bugs1005.slc
Wim Dekker
793
etc etc.

I chanched only the heading of this saved game into:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?>

C:\Sokoban\Levels\maelstrm.slc
Wim Dekker
19
etc etc

And I saved this as "Maelstrm collection nr.20.gam"

Started Sokoban again, and loaded the saved game: "Maelstrm collection nr.20.gam"

And yes. Puzzle was solved almost.

It was a difficult puzzle, that's why I tried this. And it works !!!

Are you trying to show us on how to "import" a patial solution from one level to another ?

If that's the case... I thought the export/import moves function should allow you to do that already.

Anyway, since you mentioned this level (and it looks like you solved both already), you might want to give this level a try:
(arrange is done by stopheart; added a box)

Level: 'Maelstrom / Level 19 R--1' Nr: 333 Collection: 'Mass Remodel'

But how do you do that?
I thought:
Select the puzzle Bugs1005 collection, 794: 798
Press "View" "Scoreboard" Klik on the list, "Solutions" "Export LuRd"
gives: "Solution exported to clipboard"
Then:
Select the puzzle The maelstrom collection, 20: Maelstrom Collection
Press "View" "Scoreboard" Klik on the list, "Solutions" "Import LuRd"
gives: "Not a valid solution".

Comparing the text files brought me to the previous mentioned method.

Now I found a second way:
Select the puzzle Bugs1005 collection, 794: 798
Press "Tools" and then "Export Settings"
That gives a message: Settings saved to C:\Sokoban\Settings.txt
Then:
Select the puzzle The maelstrom collection, 20: Maelstrom Collection
Press "Play" and then "Import moves"

This works.

Why can't I find that in the help file?
Because, as a simple user, it's confusing:
You export settings, and you import moves !!!
I just want to export LuRd's and import LuRd's

Bring me to the next question:
How do I copy your new puzzle into Sokoban ?
Until now, I did not find the right way.
Is this described in the Help file?

Hi, guys!
keep cool and don't worry.
Concerning export and import (partial) solution: Why not using Yasc (by Brian). In that tool everything works like Willam expected: 1. Copy solution to clipboard (hotkey) 2. Load another level 3. Import solution from clipboard (hotkey).
The LURD is automatically imported up to the last legal push/move. From there you can step back and continue as you like.
And, by the way, you can even look for similar (!) levels in your database.

have a nice day

Short answer:
copy the level in my post and then paste it into the Sokoban program.

Longer answer:

1. click on the "quote" button on my post above.

2. copy the XSB format level between the code tags.

3. run the Sokoban program

4. go to "File" menu and select "Paste Level".
(or simply use the hot-keys Ctrl+v )

This is not correct. Export settings does exactly what it says, saves your settings to a file. This is a debug function to help me fix bugs.

What you want to do, is navigate to the beginning of the moves you want to copy. Right click on the navbar, click "Set Cursor" or press Ctrl-S. Navigate to the last of the moves you want to copy. Right click on navbar, click "Export Selected Moves" or press Ctrl-X. Your moves are now on the clipboard in LuRd format.

Björn, thank you.
I opened the Bugs1005 collection 794: 798
I did as you described:

navigate to the beginning of the moves you want to copy. Right click on the navbar, click "Set Cursor" or press Ctrl-S. Navigate to the last of the moves you want to copy. Right click on navbar, click "Export Selected Moves" or press Ctrl-X. Your moves are now on the clipboard in LuRd format.

Now I opened The maelstrom collection 20: Maelstrom Collection
But the LuRd's on the clipbaord can not been imported by "View" "Scoreboard" "Solutions" "Import LuRd" That gives : Not a valid solution.

The LuRd's can been imported by "Play" "Import Moves"

Please, put this kind of information under General, Announcements, Handy helps.

Well I copied your exercise:

Level: 'Maelstrom / Level 19 R--1' Nr: 333 Collection: 'Mass Remodel'

and here is the solution:

  Moves/Pushes/Box-lines/Changes/Steps/Pusher-lines: 1811/380/172/96/169/940

Next please.
